Cindy Tyley owner of Carriage House Design discusses the new trend of succulent plants for use indoors and out. She will also give a short demonstration of propagation techniques.


12:00 PM at the Cheney Mansion, 220 N. Euclid Avenue, Oak Park, Illinois.

All are welcome to this free event.

Social time and a brief business report will precede the one hour presentation. The presentation will begin at 1:00 PM. Free parking is allowed on the street for this event (You can ignore the No Parking signs).

Park District of Oak Park Covid guidance will be followed.

January 11, 2023 Fighting Climate Change in your Back (and Front) Yards [Zoom]

Concerned about climate change but feeling like many others “what can 1 person do”? Learn that the decisions you make in your yards can make a huge difference in saving plant and animal species and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Mike Nowak, radio personality, walks us through the basics – native plants (especially oaks), harvesting rainwater, reducing lawn area, composting and other gardening decisions – all designed to help your yard conserve rather than deplete natural resources. Gain peace of mind knowing that you are helping in the fight.

Fixing Climate Change 1-10-23

Join us for some casual social time at 12:30 PM before the program. The one hour presentation will begin at 1:00 PM. An email reminder will be sent to the registered members a week before the event; a sign-in link will be sent on the day of the program.

Members may freely share the link with friends, but no email links will be sent from the club to non-members.

Julie Dolezal, A Senior Designer for Jewel/Osco will wow us with her floral creations for the winter holidays. Pick up an idea that you can use to decorate your space. We will raffle holiday floral creations for you to take home.
The Holiday Bazaar craft sale and raffle begins at 11:30am. The proceeds support the scholarship program for graduating OPRF students.
The Cheney Mansion (220 N. Euclid, Oak Park, Illinois) will be open for the Holiday Bazaar, socializing and light refreshments at 11:30am. The club will have a short business meeting, followed by the one hour presentation at 1pm. Membership is not required. Everyone is welcome. GCOPRF.ORG

Concerned or just curious about the wildlife being reported in our towns? Snakes, rodents, coyotes and fox, raccoons or skunks? Not to mention deer, hawks and other birds. A Naturalist from Trailside Museum will provide facts and tips on how to peacefully coexist with these creatures.

The Cheney Mansion (220 N. Euclid, Oak Park, Illinois) will be open for socializing and light refreshments at 12pm.  The club will have a short business meeting at followed by the one hour presentation at 1pm.
