Annual Oak Park & River Forest Garden Walk
The 27th Annual Garden Walk took place 6/27/21 from 10:00-4:00 pm. Eight private gardens and one community garden in the Oak Park/River Forest communities were featured. This is a joint project of the OPRF Garden Club and FOPCON, the proceeds are shared between the two organizations. The Garden Club has chosen to designate their share to be used to fund the yearly scholarships program. The July 2021 Garden Walk was a huge success. The club’s share of the profits, $6,466.90, will fund 2 scholarships for high school seniors in May 2022.
This is a year round project beginning with selecting gardens for the following year, immediately before and after the Garden Walk.
Committee Responsibilities: Sets the date, seeks out and selects gardens, produces the Garden Guide, solicits ads for the Garden Guide, coordinates artists in gardens with the Oak Park Art League, publicizes the event locally, plans and provides the reception for owners and volunteers, solicits and organizes volunteers for the Garden Walk. Thank you to our many volunteers that are essential to this event.

The 2021 Garden Walk Committee offers a sincere thank you to everyone who helped make this annual community event a success: the advertisers, those who donated prizes, and the Park District of Oak Park for their support. We would especially like to thank Marc Linne, the graphic designer who has for years offered his time and talent to create the Garden Guide. We are grateful to our gardeners for sharing their unique spaces and inviting us.
