Lyme Disease Epidemics – Knowledge for Gardeners

LYME DISEASE EPIDEMICS—KNOWLEDGE FOR GARDENERS
Presenter Laura Christensen, ASLA: Dispelling myths and getting the proper diagnosis, Laura draws from her year long journey with Lyme disease.

Laura Christensen

Laura and her three adult children are all recovered or recovering Lyme disease patients. She will share with your what you need to know about this growing epidemic. Learn why the disease has become so wide spread throughout all U.S. states except Hawaii and every continent except Antarctica, how to best protect yourself, what the symptoms are, how to get an accurate Lyme test, and what type of doctor to see for diagnosis and treatment. Many people go through years and years of being very sick without getting a proper diagnosis because of desperately lacking information and insufficient education about the disease in the traditional medical community. Lyme disease is known as the great imposter. Many people with undiagnosed Lyme disease have been misdiagnosed with a wide range of auto-immune disease such as MS, ALS, Parkinson’s disease, Lupus, Fibromyalgia and many others. Laura will dispel common myths and misconceptions.

We start the meeting at 12:00 PM with light refreshments including tea and decaffeinated coffee. Members volunteer to set up the centerpieces and refreshments. A short business meeting precedes a one hour garden related presentation at 1:00 PM. The meetings are free and open to the public; guests are always welcome.

Members that would like to volunteer to use their creativity to design and set up the centerpieces refreshments should contact Kathy English of the Hospitality Committee, kathryn_english@comcast.net.
