Oak Park River Forest Garden Walk – June 24, 2018

The Garden Club of Oak Park and River Forest and the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory will be holding their 25th Annual Garden Walk on  Sunday, June 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. rain or shine.  Make note of the date and prepare for an exciting self-guided tour of eight unique gardens.  Transportation from one garden to another is needed; bicycles are a good option.  Once again “Plein Air” painters will be demonstrating their amazing creativity in some of the gardens.

Tickets will be available for purchase May 1st online at this site, www,gcoprf.org and June 1st at the Oak Park Conservatory and the Oak Park Visitors Center.   Prior to the event tickets are $15.

June 24, the day of the walk, tickets will be $20 and may be purchased at either the Cheney Mansion (220 N. Euclid, Oak Park) or the Oak Park Conservatory (61 Garfield Street, Oak Park).

Regardless if you purchase tickets in advance or the day of the event you must exchange your ticket or PayPal receipt for the garden guide booklets which serve as your entry to the garden.   The exchange of ticket/receipt for Garden guides will be from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at either Cheney Mansion (220 North Euclid, Oak Park) or Oak Park  Conservatory (615 Garfield, Oak Park.  )The garden guides have a map and an explanation of each garden.

24th Annual Oak Park & River Forest Garden Walk 

Experience an inspiring day at the 24th annual Garden Walk on Sunday, June 25th!  Sponsored by the Garden Club of Oak Park and River Forest and Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory this self-guided tour throughout our beautiful villages features nine fabulous gardens and a cooperative community space.  The day is designed for the whole family to enjoy and kids under 12 are free. Ride bikes, bring a picnic and enjoy the gardens of Cheney Mansion.  Watch a sculptor create near Cheney’s greenhouse, drop by the Art League’s outdoor exhibit or view artists painting in gardens while gathering great ideas for your own spaces.

TICKET PRICE: $15 in advance   $20 event day,  Children 12 and under free

Raffles are:  $150 Gift Certificate and a $50 pair of professional pruners from Care of Trees, a Davey Company; $200 value for design and potting a Fall/Winter planter from Kiave Design LLC (winner to supply container);  $100 value Tree Walk Kids Game supplied by The Learning Gardens of Oak Park; and, a $150 value plant and gift certificate from Garland Flowers

2016 Garden Walk

sunflowerCircle Sunday, June 26 on your calendar now. The 23rd annual Oak Park River Forest Garden Walk will be held 10-4 pm rain or shine. Whether you are an avid gardener or simply enjoy visiting lovely outdoor spaces, ten eclectic gardens await you and your family. Artists will be painting in selected gardens and special events are planned at Cheney Mansion, River Forest Library and the Oak Park Art league as well. A raffle of unique garden themed items will be held.  Tickets will be available online May 15th at https://gcoprf.org/Garden Walk 2016 and at the Conservatory and other local vendors June 1; Tickets are $15 prior to the event and $20 the day of.  Tickets will not be mailed.  Bring your receipt.

Oak Park & River Forest Garden Walk June 28, 2015

The 22nd annual Garden Walk co-sponsored by the Garden Club of OPRF and Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.    Plan to enjoy the entire day.  In addition to the nine private gardens, visitors are invited to view the Anne Smedinghoff Memorial Garden at the River Forest Library. Pre-order a pre-paid Whole Foods box lunch below for pick up at Cheney Mansion and enjoy listening to the Oak Park River Forest high school musicians and see the sculptor in the Cheney Green House.  You may also bring your own picnic to enjoy on the beautiful Cheney estate gardens.  Cookies and lemonade provided to all.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the walk.    Tickets for the garden walk are available for purchase here.   Children under 12 are free.  Tickets are available  at the Oak Park Conservatory (FOPCON members receive a discount), the Oak Park Visitors Bureau and Westgate Flower and Plant shop or available by cash or credit card the day of the event at Cheney Mansion, 220 N. Euclid, Oak Park or with cash or check at the Oak Park Conservatory at 615 Garfield, Oak Park.  To purchase tickets on the day of the event you will need to park your car and walk to the purchase table outside at Cheney or inside at Oak Park Conservatory.

On the day of the event you must bring your ticket or Paypal receipt to exchange it at the curb at Cheney or the Conservatory for the garden guides that are required for admission to the gardens.  The garden guides contain a map, and a description of each garden.
