Kathi Rose as a degree in horticulture from the University of Illinois, Champaign and is a Certified Landscape Architect. She has been the owner of Kaleidoscope Floral Design for thirty years. She is also a gifted in floral design and technique.

Presentation by Nina Koziol
The Gardener as Artist-Think Outside the Phlox
Nina Koziol is a horticulturist, educator, and garden writer. She has taught horticulture, design and residential garden design history. She started teaching in 1998 at both the Chicago Botanic Garden and the Morton Arboretum. She has published two books, White Gardens and Grow a Cook’s Garden.
The program will look at public and private gardens from the quirky and magical to the elegant and innovative, and the creators of those garden spaces. Learn the plants and garden art used to create these works of art.

Barbara Collins has a Master’s Degree in Horticulture fro the University of Illinois and is the author of two books, Landscaping Herbs and Professional Interior.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration declared 2023 as the climate’s warmest year on record. this presentation examines wild water extremes ad what we can do to help our plants survive stronger storms and warmer temperatures.

1:00 PM Presentation by Heather Prince. Shady Characters: Nifty Plants for Shady Sites
Heather Prince has been part of the green industry for more than twenty years. She has been involved in numerous facets from public to private gardens, and retail to wholesale nurseries. She is a professional garden writer and trained horticulturist specializing in trees, shrubs and natives with a passion for connecting people with plants.
The presentation explores the colors and textures of shade-loving plants, and looks at varieties and species for dry, moist, partial and dense shade.

Ken Benson has a Master of Horticulture degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign and is a ;landscape architect. He’s a former Board Member of the Chicago Flower and Garden Show and a founding Board Member of the Midwest Ecological Landscapers Association.
Cultivation, pruning, exposure, media, watering and general maintenance will be explored.
